The Statement of the ECoC Kranj 2025 Team

“In the past few years, Kranj has been confronted with an increasing presence of cultural contents, that were reinforced by organizations from the field of art, creativity and civil society. Stakeholders’ participation and networking at individual major events and festivals was the basis for development and dissemination of good practices, including through integration into regional and European partnerships. Precisely the good collaborative climate between NGOs, public institutions, the municipality and individuals has made us stand for candidacy. The time is right, we feel able to put Kranj on the map of European capitals of culture and, with a thoughtful cultural strategy, make the title resonate for many years to come. The candidacy is an opportunity for shaping the city’s cultural identity, in collaboration with residents, visitors and planners. We want to expand regionally, connect with the hinterland and offer space for development of existing programs and creating fresh ideas. ”
